Super Metroid - VGA 85 NM+ Unopened, Super Famicom Nintendo 1994 JPN. One of only 13 unopened Super Famicom copies listed on VGA's September census, this first-edition Japanese release of Super Metroid predates the North American Super Nintendo version by nearly a month, making it a true first edition. The box has minor corner wear, but it looks terrific overall. Regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time, Super Metroid redefined the action-adventure genre, helping lay the groundwork for what would become known as "Metroidvania" with its atmospheric world design, open-ended progression, and innovative use of cinematic techniques. Developed over two years by a dream team of Nintendo R&D1 veterans-including series creator Gunpei Yokoi, producer Makoto Kano, and director Yoshio Sakamoto-the game seamlessly built on its predecessors while pushing the Super Famicom hardware to new artistic and technical heights.Auction Info
