Description

Kelly Freas - Original Pulp Illustration (undated). Whether you've seen his work gracing record covers, book jackets, or the covers of Mad Magazine, there's no doubt that, unless you've been hiding under a rock for the last half-century, you've seen the work of Frank Kelly Freas. Best known for a cover he painted for Analog in 1953 (which later became the cover for Queen's News of the World album), Freas' work has also graced such diverse publications as Weird Tales, Planet Stories, Mad, and paperback covers too numerous to count. This piece is rendered in pen and ink on textured board, measures approximately 8" x 10.75" with an approximate image area of 6" x 8.5", is in excellent condition, and is signed by the artist in the lower right corner.
