Sy Barry The Phantom Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 2-14-69 (King Features Syndicate, 1969). In "The Masked Ball" storyline, written by Lee Falk and drawn by Sy Barry, a gang of thieves plans a jewel heist during a fancy dress ball. Lovely panel four featuring a tender moment between the Phantom and Diana! The Phantom proposed to her in 1943, but they continued to date for over thirty years before finally getting married in 1977. Ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 15" x 4.5". Whiteout art corrections. The strip is toned and shows slight handling wear. In Very Good condition.Auction Info
