PLATINUM

Vicente Segrelles The Mercenary, Sacred Fire #1 Cover Original Art (Glénat, 1982). In the world of global fantasy, few works have made such a lasting impression as the one presented here. At the crossroads of heroic fantasy, science fiction and the world of magic, this vision straight out of the master's imagination is quite simply one of Segrelles' masterpieces. Chosen in March 1982 by Glénat to launch the Mercenary's adventures on the international market, it was picked up directly by Norma Editorial in August of the same year for the cover of the famous Fantasy magazine Cimoc #18. Oil painting on Bristol paper, itself mounted on foamboard with an image area of 13.5" x 18.25". Tear of 1.5" on its upper right edge. Originally signed, and subsequently signed a second time and dedicated in 1987. Note general handling and rippling of the Bristol due to poor gluing on the foamboard, also note a slightly more pronounced crease at the dragon's right wing. Premium original. In Good condition.
