Description
Beauty and the Beast "On the Staircase" Belle and Beast Limited Edition Sericel (Walt Disney, 1992). "Tale as old as time / True as it can be / Barely even friends / Then somebody bends / Unexpectedly" Belle and Beast are dressed to the nines and featured prominently on this limited edition sericel "On the Staircase" which depicts one of the most quintessential moments of Disney's 1991 animated classic Beauty and the Beast. A sericel is a fine art screen-printed reproduction created from a hand-painted original. This sericel was created by Disney artists working from original animation drawings used in the production of the film. It was limited to an edition size of 2,500 and has been sold out for over 30 years! Mrs. Potts serenades as Belle and Beast descend the grand staircase near the 57:59 mark of the film. Looking absolutely striking against the linework printed background which originally came paired with the sericel, Belle and Beast's full-figured images share a combined character size of 7.75" x 6.25". A silver Disney seal with the edition size is found in the lower right corner. The piece has been framed under Plexiglas to an overall size of 20.25" x 17.25" with an aperture of 13" x 10". All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. With minimal handling and wear this lot appears in Fine condition.Auction Info
