Description
Modern Inventions Donald Duck Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). "Well, well, well. Wonderful, Isn't it nice with all the... Uh oh, What's this?" Having swapped his sailor's cap for a snazzy top hat, Donald Duck explores The Museum of Modern Marvels in this original animation drawing from the theatrical Disney short Modern Inventions. Releasing on May 29, 1937, this was Jack King's (1895 - 1958) first Disney short to direct after his departure from Warner Brothers and also featured The Good Duck Artist Carl Barks' first story contribution at the Studio with the closing scene of Donald in the barber chair. From much earlier in the short, this moment can be spotted near the 1:46 mark when viewed online as Donald first begins to explore the museum. Rendered in graphite and colored pencil to a fantastic full-figured image, the dapper duck measures 3.75" x 4.75" including his shadow on the 5 peghole 12 field animation sheet which bears the sequence number 53 and an undetermined animator's initials in the lower right. With typical studio handling and edge wear including light age-related toning and superficial surface wrinkles, overall this fashionable drawing is in Very Good to Fine condition.More information about Walt Disney Studios - Fab Five.
