Description
A Feather in His Hare Bugs Bunny Animation Drawing (Warner Brothers, 1948). "What a unique character, hehehe." Bugs Bunny makes a defiant appearance in this original animation drawing from the Warner Brother's theatrical short A Feather in His Hare. One of the first shorts directed by Chuck Jones (1912 - 2002) to feature Robert McKimson's updated character design for Bugs, this film was released on February 7, 1948. Bugs can be spotted near the 6:17 mark when viewed online, having just crafted, fired, and glazed a vase solely for the purpose of a gag. This sequence was animated by Ben Washam who is best known for his nearly 30 years of work under Jones' direction. Bugs is featured fantastically full-figured, rendered in graphite with colored pencil to a character size of 3.25" x 6.75" on a 2 peghole 12 field animation sheet. The page bears the sequence number 3 in the lower right, and the reverse side includes the notation "Ben Washum from Jones Cartoon". Production drawings of this quality from this era are considered very rare. With typical studio handling and edge wear including light age-related toning and minor corner wear, overall this quintessential Bugs Bunny is in Good to Very Good condition.Auction Info
