Description

Hal Stone - Story Illustrations Original Art Group of 3 (c. 1940s-1950s). This lot features three black-and-white illustrations by prolific illustrator Hal Stone. Included is a story illustration for "The Watch" by Dale Clark, created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 13". Also included is a story illustration for "The Toy Sword", rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 11.5" x 8", likely created for the New York Daily News or Daily News Tribune. The third piece is an illustration of a scenic getaway, executed in ink over graphite on textured board, measuring 9.25" x 15.5". The pieces exhibit signs of age, including foxing, smudging, toning, creasing, edge tears, and handling wear, with missing/torn sections on the scenic getaway illustration. Each piece is signed by Stone at the bottom of the image area. In overall Very Good condition.
