Description
The Dick Tracy Show Character Color Model Cel Group of 3 (UPA, c. 1961-62). Here is a spectacular set of rare hand-inked and hand-painted original color model cels created for UPA's classic animated series The Dick Tracy Show, based on Chester Gould's comic strip of the same name. All bearing official UPA seals, these cels offer a wonderfully graphic, thick-line stylization as only can be achieved by UPA. These rare pieces were used as reference tools for consistent color and design among the series' animators. Featuring the titular hero himself and two of the creatively designed secondary characters of the series, the cels are each in an 18" x 14" mat with a window size of 11" x 8.5". The cel offering three images of Dick Tracy bears the hand-written notation Master Cel and Dick Tracy-60. Minor handling and edge wear, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
