Al Jaffee Tall Tales Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 12-23-59 (New York Herald Tribune, 1959). Already a presence in MAD, artist Al Jaffee re-shaped newspaper comics pages with Tall Tales -- a narrow vertical panel strip that was usually wordless, or with minimal dialogue. This funny daily was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 2.75" x 11". Slight toning, discolored stat logo and syndicate paste-ups, blue pencil editorial marks, whiteout touch-ups, with light staining and handling wear. Signed by Jaffee in the lower right image area and in Very Good condition.Auction Info
