Description
Al Jaffee MAD #355 Futuristic Illustration Original Art (EC Publ., 1997). From an all-star collaborative piece called MAD in the Year 2038, this inspired spread includes two solo Jaffee cartoons -- one, showing a high-tech futuristic couple, the other showing a radiation-burned couple. The all-graphite composition might be mistaken for a refined preliminary drawing, but this is in fact the finished version; the penciled dialogue-box borders were replaced with typesetting for publication. (Other pages of the published article featured such MAD stalwarts as Mort Drucker, Sergio Aragones, and Dave Berg.) Graphite on vellum, attached to a backing sheet. Dimensions, 12" x 15". Very Good condition, with natural smudging and adhesive seams.Auction Info
