Walt Kelly Pogo Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 1-12-60 (Hall Syndicate, Inc., 1960). An adorable and political daily strip. A pivotal year for Kelly's satirical masterpiece: Fresh from having completed his first major retrospective survey of the strip in Ten Ever-Lovin' Blue-Eyed Years with Pogo (Simon & Schuster, 1959), the artist sought a higher plateau of mingled silliness and social commentary. Ink over blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 18.5" x 5.25". Slight toning, pinholes, fold in the middle of strip, editorial notes, and light smudging/handling wear.
