Description

Mickey's Amateurs Goofy Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). "We now have Bandmaster Goofy!" explains Mickey to his audience. "And his fifty piece band!" chimes in Goofy. Mickey's Amateurs parodies popular "amateur hour" radio shows of the time and the lineup of performers is full of beloved Disney characters. For his act, Goofy performs with a clumsy contraption which he constructed to allow him to play fifty different instruments on stage as a one-man-band! This image of Goofy depicts him as he plays his clarinet, a moment which can be found at about the 6:41 mark of the short. This fantastic, full-figure image of the costumed Goofy and his clarinet measures an impressive 10" x 6.5". The drawing is created with graphite and red and blue pencil on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. The paper is marked in its lower right corner with 97. This action-filled drawing is in Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear and some age-related toning.
