Description
Scooby-Doo, Where Are You Scooby and Mystery, Inc. Kids Sketches by Iwao Takamoto (Hanna-Barbera, 1999). Scooby-Doo and the Mystery, Inc crew of Fred, Velma, Shaggy, and Daphne were in part designed by the great animator Iwao Takamoto (1925 - 2007). The original concept was based on the old live-action TV series The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. Here are two original sketches from the hand of Iwao Takamoto. The first is a large image of Scooby, pondering his next mystery (or meal). It's drawn in black marker on paper measuring 11" x 14", and boldly signed by Mr. Takamoto, dated '99. The second item is a real treasure, a fantastic graphite sketch of the Mystery, Inc. gang. The poses and facial expressions are sublime, and fit each one to a T. This sketch is on a sheet of 12 field 3-peghole animation paper, and is signed but not dated. It has the lower left corner clipped, but this does not affect the image. Overall condition is Very Good, with minor handling wear.Auction Info
