Description

Silly Symphonies Little Hiawatha Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). In this Silly Symphony, a little Native American boy named Hiawatha goes out hunting. To the animals' delight, however, Hiawatha is too gentle to harm any of the animals, so he breaks his little bow and arrow. This charming image depicts Hiawatha as he motions for a baby rabbit to run back to its family after deciding not to shoot it. The image can be found at about the 4:27 mark of the Silly Symphony. This short and its subject intrigued Walt Disney so much that he began development on a feature film based on Hiawatha. However, this film would never come to be. This lovely original animation drawing features an image of Little Hiawatha measuring about 3.25" x 3.75". The drawing is created with graphite and colored pencils on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. It is marked in its lower right corner with 86. This adorable piece is in Very Good condition, with just minor handling and edge wear and some minor age-related toning.
