Description
Garfield and Friends "The Kitty Council" Garfield and Floyd the Mouse Production Cel Setup and Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Film Roman, 1992). "Yes, I, Garfield cat, have found a mouse." Garfield gets called in front of the Kitty Council to prove his worth as a cat by catching a mouse. He fruitlessly tries to meet the council's expectations until he finds his friend Floyd, who he brings to the council as proof of his mouse-catching abilities. This funny cel depicts Garfield as he finally finds Floyd and realizes he can present Floyd to the council as proof of his predatory instincts, a moment which can be found at about the 5:30 mark of the short. This setup is composed of three original, hand-painted production cels which have been placed atop a color print background for presentation. The image of Garfield and Floyd measures about 4.75" x 3.25" on their 12 field cels. Also included is an effects cel from this scene. The cel of Garfield is marked in its lower right corner with G4, and the cel of Floyd is marked with F4. This group also comes with an original animation drawing of Garfield. It is created with graphite and blue pencil on 12 field animation paper, and it is marked in its lower right corner with G2. The condition of this energetic piece is Good to Very Good, with just minor handling and edge wear.From the Jim Davis Collection.
