Description
Alvin Carl Hollingsworth - Romance Comic Strips Original Art Group of 2 (undated). Noted crime comics artist Alvin Hollingworth brilliantly renders two highly-detailed romance strips of unknown origin. Although the strips may have gone unpublished, they are full of flourishes such as clever use of shadows/shading film, and meticulously drawn characters. The undated strips were rendered at twice-up scale with ink and shading film over graphite on Bristol boards with image areas of 20.25" x 6". The boards have toned, have whiteout corrections, corner/edge wear, and marginal notes. Hollingsworth has signed both strips in the image area and they are in Excellent condition.From the Roger Hill Collection.
