Al Jaffee Tall Tales Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 9-26-59 (New York Herald Tribune, 1959). Already a presence in MAD, artist Al Jaffee re-shaped newspaper comics pages with Tall Tales -- a narrow vertical panel strip that was usually wordless, or with minimal dialogue. Love is on display in this daily created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 2.75" x 11". Slight toning, discolored stat logo and syndicate paste-ups, whiteout corrections/touch-ups, with light staining and handling wear. In Very Good condition.Auction Info
