Description
Edwina Dumm Tippie Sunday Comic Strips Original Art and Promotional Insert Group of 3 (George Matthew Adams Service, 1936-37). Tippie spins into mischief on a blustery day in "A Good Time", then shows his softer side in "Don't Cry", where he can't bring himself to abandon a girl in tears. Together, these classic Sunday strips dated 11-15-36 and 2-28-37, capture why Tippie earned his place as America's favorite comic strip terrier, equal parts whirlwind and heart. The Sundays are rendered in ink over graphite on illustration boards with image areas of 14.75" x 23". Each board was scored and folded at center for mailing. The 11/15 strip is fully separated along the fold and has been tape-repaired on the reverse. The 2/28 strip remains intact, with separations at both ends of the fold. The boards are toned, with water damage to the left side of each board, reproduction stat title paste-ups, staining, whiteout corrections, smudging, marginal pinholes, corner bumps, surface wear to edges/corners, and handling wear. In Good condition. Includes a vintage promotional insert for Edwina Dumm's dog strips Tippie and Alec the Great.More information about Edwina Dumm.
