Eisner-winning British comic wunderkind Simon Bisley pays tribute to that awards names sake with this visceral rendering of The Spirit beaten and battered relying on an exaggerated rendering of his femme fatale archnemesis P'Gell to stay on his feet for this preliminary illustration for a full color painting. Ink, ink wash, marker, and white paint over graphite on illustration board with an edge-to-edge image area of 11.75" x 16.5". Signed by Bisley in the image area. Corner bump and light handling wear. Otherwise, in Excellent condition.
