Originally dreamed up in the 1960s by Jerry De Fuccio and Mart Bailey, The Owl remained a hidden gem until it finally soared into print in AC Comics' Men of Mystery #17 (1999). A true throwback to the Golden Age of Comics, this long-lost hero embodies the bold storytelling of the era, brought to life through Bailey's signature realistic and clean-lined art style. Best known for his work on The Face in 1940s Big Shot Comics, Bailey's take on The Owl is a rare glimpse into a superhero vision that might have been -- but almost never was. Created in mixed media on sturdy illustration board with an image area of 8.5" x 10.25". Toning, smudging, minor spot staining, whiteout corrections, and minor handling wear.
