Description

Bill Plympton The Simpsons "Homer's Face" Couch Gag Animation Drawings Sequence of 3 (Fox, 2018). In 1987 independent animator Bill Plympton released Your Face, a cartoon that went on to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. This is a sequence of three original animation drawings from The Simpsons' couch gag that opened the 2018 episode "3 Scenes Plus a Tag from a Marriage" (S29 E 13). Created by Mr. Plympton, it was a parody of Your Face with Homer Simpson replacing the original character. As one of Matt Groening's favorite animators, Mr. Plympton has produced a total of seven couch gags for the show, more than any guest director. Presented are three original drawings filmed in the making of this remarkable opening sketch. From sequence "G", they appear around the 1:11 mark and can be viewed on You Tube. The approximately 7.5" tall images are rendered in colored pencil on 12 field 3-peghole paper and numbered 556, 562, and 569 respectively in the lower right corner. Each of the drawings is signed by the artist, Bill Plympton in graphite. All show minor handling and edge wear. Condition is Very Good.
