Mickey's Rival Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1936). Mickey and Minnie's picnic has gone off the rails! First Mortimer crashes it, and now a furious bull is on the loose. Mickey tries to help Minnie as best he can in this 12 field 5-peghole animation drawing. She had been hiding up a tree and he gently calls her down, the red blanket he was using to distract the bull still draped around his shoulder. The full figure drawing can be found at about 6:30 as Mickey tries to get Minnie to climb down a second time, rendered beautifully in graphite with color pencil. The page includes an ink note on the blanket and a note in the top right about how to animate the buttons on Mickey's pants: "No buttons on front of pants, only in rear". The drawing measures about 3.5'' x 5'' and is noted as 66 in the lower right with a color pencil timing chart along the right border. Good to Very Good condition overall with minor edge and handling wear, light edge and handling wear, and a faint crease not near the drawing.Auction Info
