Description
Jay Ward Studios Storyboard/Concept Drawings Print Group of 39 (Jay Ward, c. 1960s). Jay Ward (1920 - 1989) was the motivating genius behind such 1960s television cartoon stars as Rocky and Bullwinkle and cereal mascot Cap'n. Crunch. From Jay's studio comes this rare set of intriguing photocopies of various storyboard drawings, concept sketches, and more, including comical images of Jay by animator Shirley Silvey (1920 - 2010), intended for a Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle storyline. The various-sized prints include three pages of R&B characters (including Jay on two); an intricate submarine interior; an image of Cap'n Crunch, with another image cut out and taped on; a page with several images of Boris (one with Natasha); a page with three images of an odd character that resembles Bullwinkle as a dog; two prints with thumbnail storyboard from the second Hoppity Hooper episode; thirteen 14" x 8.5" storyboard prints of various episodes of Hoppity Hooper, Dudley Doo-Right (featuring Snidely Whiplash), Rocky and Bullwinkle (featuring Fearless Leader), and what appears to be a special featuring Santa Claus. Finally, there are fifteen 14" x 8.5" storyboard prints of a Hoppity Hooper episode (noted as #61), with pages numbering 1-10, 12, 14-17. There are also two small single image prints of unknown characters (one is in reverse). Condition is about Very Good, with mostly minor handling wear, some edge wear with a few small folds, and some mild age-related paper toning.More information about Jay Ward Studios.
