Frank Godwin Rusty Riley Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 9-14-56 (King Features Syndicate, 1956). For many fans, the realism of Frank Godwin's figures, his superb line work, and the style in which he described forms in ink has never been surpassed in the art of the comic strip. The image area of this tragic daily, featuring a highly desirable horse racing scene, measures 18.5" x 5.25". Aside from a closely trimmed upper margin, some heavy yellowing of the Zipatone and paper in panel three, and areas of blue wash, the work is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
