Al Capp (as A.G. Caplin) "The Viewers-with-Alarm" Editorial Cartoon Illustration Original Art (1933). Before adopting the Al Capp pseudonym and launching Li'l Abner the following year, Alfred Gerald Caplin, here still using his real name, humorously critiques the reactions to alcohol legalization, blending satire with exaggerated concerns about prohibition's repeal. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 8.5" x 11.25". Signed by Al Capp (as A.G. Caplin) in the lower right of the image area. Toned, with light scuffing. In Excellent condition.
From the Denis Kitchen Collection.
