Description

Mickey's Amateurs Goofy Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). "We now have Bandmaster Goofy!" announces Mickey Mouse to his live radio audience. "And his fifty piece band!" chimes in Goofy. This 1937 short is a parody of "amateur hour" radio shows of the time, and it stars a cast of beloved Disney characters as they attempt to impress Mickey with their various performances. Goofy takes the stage with a clumsy contraption which he constructed to allow him to play fifty different instruments on stage as a one-man-band! This image of Goofy depicts him tangled in his machine as he plays his clarinet, a moment which can be found at about the 6:42 mark of the short. This fantastic, nearly-full-figure image of the costumed Goofy measures an impressive 10.75" x 7.5". The drawing is created with graphite and red and blue pencil on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper. The paper is marked in its lower right corner with D12. This action-filled drawing is in Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear and some age-related toning.
