Raid Television Commercial Production Cel Scene (SC Johnston/Kurtz and Friends, c. 1970s-80s). Commercials for insecticide products by SC Johnston's Raid have been featured with animated bugs since the dawn of television in the late 1940s. Here's a great original hand-inked, hand-painted 12 field 2-cel production scene with a pair of insects, one flying with helmet, goggles, and scarf -- shades of Snoopy's "WWII Flying Ace! Many animation studios have produced these short films; the cels here have the look of Kurtz and Friends, founded by Bob Kurtz and considered one of the best in the business. The bugs have approximate image sizes of 5" x 4" and 2" x 3". The cels are matted with an opening of 9" x 7" and overall mat size of 14" x 12". Cels are in Very Good condition with minor handling.Auction Info
