Description
Funny Pages V4#1 (Centaur, 1940) CGC VG/FN 5.0 Off-white to white pages. Here's book that many comics fans have seen only from illustrations in Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide. In fact, Overstreet and Gerber both refer to this one as "rare," with an estimated 11 to 20 copies still in existance. This copy is solid and attractive, with great color and good page quality. The Arrow stars on his third cover. Inside, there's the origin of Mantoka, Maker of Magic and the beginning of the Mad Ming strip, with art by Jack Cole and Tarpe Mills. Only one copy grades higher in CGC's current census; in fact, to date there are only two copies graded by CGC. Overstreet 2003 VG 4.0 value = $452; FN 6.0 value = $678.CGC Grader Notes:
