Description

Trix Cereal "Hypnotized Rabbit Box Promotion" Television Commercial Production Cel (General Mills, 1994). "Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids!" This original production cel features the iconic Trix Rabbit in a hilarious moment from a 1994 "box promotion" commercial, where a hypnotist attempts to cure the rabbit of his obsessive love for the fruity breakfast cereal. Known for the catchphrase "Trix are for kids!", the Trix Rabbit's endless (and always thwarted) pursuit of the cereal made him a beloved advertising mascot for generations. Trix cereal, introduced by General Mills in 1954, was a sugar-coated version of Kix and originally featured three colors: "Orangey Orange," "Lemony Yellow," and "Raspberry Red." While the cereal began with spherical pieces, in 1991 it adopted the fruit-shaped puffs seen in this cel. (In 2007, the brand returned to its original shapes.) This hand-painted production cel showcases two large 8.5" images: the hypnotized rabbit and a kid who-naturally-is the true intended cereal eater. The art is rendered on 12 field acetate, paired with a background print, and features a General Mills seal in the lower right. Matted to 18" x 15.5", the cel is in Very Good condition.
