Description
Bugs Bunny and Taz "You Dirty Devil" Limited Edition Color Model Cel and Original Key Master Background with 2 Layout Drawings (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Here's a terrific three-piece assortment of original art for the limited edition release by Clampett Studio's "You Dirty Devil". The assortment includes a hand-inked, hand-painted 16 field-size color model cel. The cel contains a Clampett Studio seal in the bottom left, and is paired with the original hand-painted Key Master background. The background was painted in gouache on 17.5" x 13.5" illustration board. Along with the color model is the original character layout and the original background layout drawings. Both pieces were rendered in blue pencil on 17" x 14.5" illustration paper. The Tasmanian Devil, or "Taz," is one of the most popular characters in the Looney Tunes stable since his 1954 appearance in "Devil May Hare." Taz's typical pairing was with Bugs Bunny, though he did pair off with Daffy Duck in 1957's "Ducking the Devil." Created by Robert McKimson, the artist and director was fairly correct with his depiction of Taz. Like the real Tasmanian devil, McKimson's is stout, with a broad head and foul temper.
