Description

Castle in the Sky Pazu and Sheeta Animation Drawing (Studio Ghibli, 1986). Presented is a marvelous original animation drawing from the production of the very first Studio Ghibli film, Castle in the Sky. Directed by the great Hayao Miyazaki, Castle in the Sky tells an allegorical tale of technology and its volatile relationship with nature and war. A great image of the heroes Pazu and Sheeta, this rough drawing is rendered masterfully in graphite on 13.75" x 9" 3-peghole animation paper, and the characters measure a centered 7.75" tall. This drawing can be seen on page 105 of the German Film Institute's gallery exhibition book Ga-Netchu! The Manga Anime Syndrome. The official Studio Ghibli-watermarked paper shows minor handling and edge wear, and the condition of this lovely piece is Very Good.
From the Glad Museum Collection.
