Description
Pete's Dragon Elliot Production Cel and Model Sheet Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1977). "Now everybody hates us. I don't know if you're good for me, or bad." Pete chastises Elliot for getting into mischief in this scene from Disney's animated/live action film, Pete's Dragon. Offered in this lot is a fantastic hand-painted production cel featuring an enormous image of the titular dragon, Elliot. This image of a sad Elliott with Tic Tac Toe marks on his chest shows up at about the 30:33 mark of the movie, after he tries to lift Pete's mood with their favorite game. The character measures 12" x 10.5", nearly filling the laminated 16-field production cel. The cel bears a Walt Disney Productions stamp in the upper right corner and comes with a Disney COA mounted to the back of the 21.5" x 17.5" glass front frame. Also in the lot is an original animator's model sheet of Elliot. Since only a portion of this film featured animation, very few model sheets were needed, making this one particularly rare. It measures 14" x 11" on photo paper and shows four different images of Elliot along with a director's note on the dragon's spots and the title with production number. Model sheets were never suppose to leave the studio, and are collected as official studio documents. It exhibits minor handling and edge wear and is mounted with clear corners in a 20" x 16" glass front frame. Condition is Very Good. All frames are sold as-is.
