Woodland Café Animation Drawing Group of 3 (Walt Disney, 1937). These bugs are really swinging it in a nightclub with a full orchestra and dancing in this Wilfred Jackson-directed Silly Symphony cartoon, released on 3/13/1937. Animation legend and one of "Walt's Nine Old Men" Ward Kimball animated some of the orchestra scenes in this musical short. The first of these three original 12 field animation drawings features a grasshopper saxophonist getting in the groove, as seen at about the 6:03 timestamp; the image size is approximately 3" x 5". In the next drawing, numbered 10 in the lower right, we see the top-hatted Cab Calloway-like conductor in an image that measures 4.5" x 5"; find it at about the 6:24 timestamp and again at 6:53. The trio of sax players are the ones "Cab" is conducting; this image is noted as 204 and seen at about the 6:23 mark, with a combined image size of 5.25" x 3.75". All three animation drawings are in graphite with red pencil highlights and guidelines. The overall condition is Very Good with minor handling and edge wear.
