Description
Pocahontas "Just Around the River Bend" Limited Edition Cel #500/500 Signed by Mark Henn (Walt Disney, 1995). There were no hand-painted production cels used in the making of Pocahontas, Disney's 33rd animated feature film, so in order to meet the demands of animation collectors, the studio released this stunning hand-painted limited edition. In this scene, Pocahontas sings to Meeko and Flit about how her uncertain future is like a winding river, never revealing what lies ahead. This was the first limited edition cel released for this film, and it was created from original production artwork used for Sequence 5/Scene 25. The piece was painted at the Disney Ink and Paint Department on the studio lot. The cel is hand-numbered 500/500, is over a print background, and bears a Disney seal. The cel is signed by Mark Henn, an animator for Pocahontas. First hired by Disney in 1980, Henn is one of the longest continuously employed artists at the studio. He is well-known for drawing female characters, such as Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Giselle, and Tiana. A studio-issued COA is affixed to the back of the frame. Frame is 29" x 21" with a mat opening of 19" x 11". Condition is Very Good. Frame is sold as-is.Auction Info
