Description

Lonesome Ghosts Donald Duck Animation Drawing Sequence of 21 (Walt Disney, 1937). "Who did that? Who did that?!" The ghosts are the ones hunting the ghost hunters in Lonesome Ghosts and Donald is their target here in this enormous sequence of 21 12 field animation drawings from the Burt Gillett-directed short. Released on 12/24/1937, the short brought ghost exterminators Mickey, Donald, and Goofy to a haunted house where three ghosts tormented them until our trio find themselves covered in flour and molasses and scare them away. The full figure graphite with color pencil drawings range from about 7.25'' x 5.5'' to 2.75'' x 3'' and were created for the scene starting at roughly the 4:54 timestamp as one of the ghosts smacks him with a wooden beam, causing him to go flying. Animators on the short included Art Babbitt, Rex Cox, Clyde Geronimi, Dick Huemer, Milk Kahl, Isadore Klein, Ed Love, Bob Wickersham and more and showcase the squash and stretch principle of animation perfectly. Each is numbered in the lower right corner and the group is in Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear, faint age-related toning, and the occasional small stain.
