Description

The Sword in the Stone Merlin as a Fish Production/Color Model Cel (Walt Disney, 1963). "So you thought you could take right off like a shot, did you?" Merlin chuckles to himself about Wart's fishy predicament in this amusing original production/color model cel from Disney's 1963 classic The Sword in the Stone. One of two memorable animal transformation sequences appearing prior to his climatic battle with the Mad Madam Mim, Merlin can be spotted diving into the moat after the young squire beginning near the 29:31 timestamp having also transfigured himself into a fish for the day's lesson. He has been hand-painted to full-figure measuring 3.25" x 3.5" nicely centered on the 16 field cel which has been paired with a print background for display purposes and trimmed slightly to fit the dimensions of the mat; the mat measures 15.75" x 11.75" overall with an aperture of 11.5" x 8.5". With typical handling and edge wear including the noted trimming, slight rippling of the acetate, and faint surface wear/debris, overall this clever wizard is in Very Good condition.
