Description
The Great Mouse Detective Basil Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1986). Here's an original production cel featuring Basil of Baker Street from Walt Disney's 26th animated feature The Great Mouse Detective. Based on the children's book series Basil of Baker Street by Eve Titus, the film draws heavily on the tradition of Sherlock Holmes with a heroic mouse who consciously emulates the detective; Titus named the main character after Basil Rathbone, who is best remembered for playing Holmes in film. The 4.5" x 3.5" image on Basil was hand-painted on 12 field acetate. The cel is numbered 33. In Very Good condition.Auction Info
