Description
Virgil Ross - Yosemite Sam and Bugs Bunny Illustration (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). "Avast ye, Varmint!" This drawing was inspired by the 1948 Friz Freleng-directed Looney Tunes short, Buccaneer Bunny. This Bugs Bunny cartoon was one of many animated by the great Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996), during his long tenure with Warners, where he worked with Tex Avery and Bob Clampett in addition to Freleng. Mr. Ross also worked on various Hanna-Barbera TV series like The Flintstones, and on the animated version of Star Trek for Filmation. His awards include the prestigious Winsor McCay Award, given to him in 1988. This original drawing is on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper, with an image size of 5" x 10". It is signed in the lower right by Virgil Ross. Minor handling; otherwise, condition is Very Good.Auction Info
