Description

Sleeping Beauty Maleficent Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1959). "I set my trap for a peasant and, lo, I catch a prince!" Maleficent says with a wicked smile on her face. This fantastic 16 field 3-peghole animation drawing features Maleficent, the mistress of evil and one of the most iconic Disney Villains. The drawing comes from the 1959 Disney film Sleeping Beauty and looks to have been made for the scene at roughly 57:40 when Maleficent greets the captured Prince Phillip in Briar Rose's cottage. She is delighted to have him in her clutches and immediately tells her henchman to take him to the dungeon. The sorceress looks down at her scepter in the animation drawing, a torch replacing the candle that is present in the final version. She measures roughly 7.5'' x 11.5'' and is numbered 263. There is minor edge and handling wear with light age-related toning. Very Good condition overall.
