Description
Inspector Gadget "Crash Course in Crime" Inspector Gadget and Corporal Capeman Production Cel Setup with Production Background (DIC, 1985). The Inspector simultaneously tries to stop MAD's 8th anniversary crime spree and teach Capeman how to fight crime, but things get a little out of hand when their car is towed. This hilarious episode was the 13th of Season 2 and originally aired on 10/29/1985. The incredible 2-layer production cel setup in this lot can be found at roughly 11:14 in the episode as the pair's car is dropped onto a conveyer belt slowly pulling them towards a car crusher, both characters completely oblivious. The production background is hand-painted in gouache and doesn't look to be from the episode, but may be from the series. The characters measure about 10'' x 7.75'' and are stapled at the top edge to the 14.5'' x 10'' gouache on background board production background. Good condition with minor edge and handling wear, the top cel stuck to the bottom, some air pockets in the center (but not on the characters), and pinholes.Auction Info
