Space Battleship Yamato Derek Wildstar Production Cel (Academy Productions, c. 1974-83). From Leiji Matsumoto's influential space opera franchise Space Battleship Yamato, presented is a fantastic hand-painted original production cel featuring protagonist Derek Wildstar. Considered one of the most important sci-fi anime of all time, Yamato's approach toward serious themes and complex storylines inspired future works in the medium, including such notable titles as Gundam, Evangelion, and Macross. This excellent piece from the series has a hand-painted image area of 10" x 7.5" on the 12 field cel, and it bears the numbers 245 and A1 in the upper right corner. Displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes, the cel shows minor handling and edge wear with some tape debris on edges, and the overall condition is Very Good.
