Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Background Layout Studio Prints and Las Posadas Coaster Group of 5 (Walt Disney, c. 1936-37). Here's a great assortment of four studio prints of exterior and interior background layouts for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - and as a bonus this lot includes a rare drink coaster featuring Mary Blair artwork from the "Las Posadas" segment of The Three Caballeros. In visual arts a background layout is the line drawing of the background for a scene. Layouts are usually drawn from storyboards which define the action and perspective in the scene. Layout drawings are then given to the background painters to color and complete the visual style. Background layout artists take them to the next level by defining the detail and perspective. These studio prints measure 16" x 12.5", one contains a protective overlay with a sticker that reads, "Please be careful of this drawing and return to Arden Lanham Walt Disney Studios". Lanham was an uncredited art director working with Ken Anderson. He left the studio and became an award-winning technical illustrator working for the U.S. Space Program. The vintage prints exhibit edge wear with stains, fold creases and age-related toning. Condition is Fair. The coaster appears unused.Auction Info
