Lambert the Sheepish Lion Illustration (Walt Disney, c. 1971). "Once upon a time... a springtime... it was matter of fact a nighttime... a certain flock of sheep had a visit from old Mr. Stork..." Presented is a wonderful original preliminary illustration for the children's book and record publication of Lambert the Sheepish Lion, based on the 1952 Disney animated short film of the same name. Telling the story of a lion mistakenly raised by sheep, Lambert the Sheepish Lion carries themes of the importance of self-acceptance and its effect on societal acceptance. A delightful and rare cover image, this piece is rendered in graphite and blue pencil on a sheet of trimmed 8" x 7" animation paper. The piece shows minor handling and edge wear with a light horizontal fold in center, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
