Police Academy: The Animated Series End Credits Title Card (Ruby-Spears, c. 1988). The characters from the wildly-popular slapstick comedy film Police Academy made their debut on the small screen in 1988 with Warner Brothers TV's Police Academy: The Animated Series. The show was internationally-beloved during its run on TV, being particularly popular in the Middle East and Europe. The series spawned numerous adaptations, with a comic book based on the series produced in 1989, as well as action figures and a board game being created based on the show. Ruby-Spears produced the animation for the show in collaboration with Hanna-Barbera. This incredible piece is the original end credits title card from the show, which was used as a background for each episode's credits roll. The piece depicts a Police Academy seal on a speckled blue floor. This great design is rendered with gouache on 13.5" x 10.5" background board, and it is labeled with both 5131-8800 and "End Credit Title Card" on its lower edge. This great title card is in Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear, including a very small strip of paint damage from tape adhesion at the top edge.Auction Info
