Description

Atlantis: The Lost Empire RARE Milo Thatch Employee-Exclusive Limited Edition Cel #37/39 (Walt Disney, 2001). A rare Walt Disney Feature Animation employee-exclusive cel from Atlantis: The Lost Empire featuring Milo Thatch. Depicted as the expedition's linguist and cartography expert, Milo walks across the deck of the colossal submarine Ulysses, awestruck. Unnumbered on the cel itself and limited to just 39 examples, this piece was hand-inked and hand-painted at Disney's world-famous Ink and Paint Department. The 16 field-size cel is paired with a background print and framed to 21.5" x 14.5", with a Disney COA on the back which includes the edition number 37 (of 39) in the lower left. Within the film's lore, Ulysses-developed by Whitmore Industries-served as the vessel guiding the team toward the lost continent. Milo, orphaned grandson of Thaddeus Thatch, marries Princess Kida and becomes King Consort of Atlantis, underscoring his growth from timid scholar to courageous leader. Exclusive to Feature Animation employees, the studio continued its tradition of gifting crew a cel with a choice of ten scenes. This example hails from Sequence 5, Scene 3, and presents beautifully: clean lines, rich color, and a Milo moment. A terrific piece of animation art and a great find for collectors. In Fine condition. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
