Description

Dragon Ball Episode 77 "Pilaf's Tactics" Goku, Pilaf, Mai, and Fox Production Cel with Production Drawings Group of 5 (Toei Animation, 1987). "Um... Can I please have your dragon ball now, Mister?" This is an original production cel of Goku, Pilaf, Mai, and Fox, from episode 77 of Dragon Ball, "Pilaf's Tactics." The cel, seen at the 19:45 mark of the episode, depicts the memorable moment at the end of the episode, where a battle-triumphant Goku receives the 1-Star dragon ball from Pilaf. When the powersuits burn Goku's clothes off in battle, Pilaf is horrified to learn Goku no longer has a tail, and they can no longer exploit his weakness. This cel is composed of 4 cel layers, hinged along the top-edge with tape. There is an animation drawing stuck to the back of the last cel. Additionally, there are 4 separate animation drawings depicting aspects of Goku. Cels depicting a naked Goku are very difficult to find, with this example being a terrific reminder of the classic style of humor in the show, and the innocence of our hero, Goku. The condition is Very Good, with minor paint wear, light handling and edge wear from production, and minor fading of the black linework, which is fairly common to original production cels from Dragon Ball.
