Heavy Metal 2000 Julie Limited Edition 1 of 1 Cel (CinéGroupe, 2000). Here's a rare one-of-a-kind hand-painted 1/1 limited edition cel featuring Julie from the Michael Coldewey-directed feature film, Heavy Metal 2000. Written by Kevin Eastman the film tells the dystopian-story of Julie, who survives an invasion on her peaceful home world, and now must stop a powerful psychopath from gaining immortality. Julie is voiced by Julie Strain (1962 - 2021). Known as "Queen of the B Movies", Strain has almost 150 low-budget film credits to her name. She was married to writer Kevin Eastman (co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). In a 2000 interview with Julie Strain in Entertainment Weekly, regarding the film, the interviewer asked "You're nude quite a bit in this flick. Did you have any say in your 'toon physique?" Julie replied: "Absolutely! I went to Montreal to oversee the face structure and to make sure the character looked tall. Because I'm 6' 1". Sometimes, people draw me and you can tell the body is that of a 5' 8" person." This fantastic image of Julie is hand-painted on 28" acetate. The 6'1" Julie measures 6.5" x 8.5" - nicely centered on the pan-size cel. Presented over a 27.5" x 14" Giclée print of the original background and matted to 32" x 18".
