Description
Heavy Metal 2000 Julie and Tyler RARE Limited Edition 1 of 1 Cel (CinéGroupe, 2000). Here's a rare hand-painted one of one limited edition cel featuring Julie and Tyler from the animated feature Heavy Metal 2000. Actor Michael Ironside provided the deep gravely voice for Tyler. Julie was voiced by Penthouse Pet and "Queen of the B Movies" Julie Strain (1962 - 2021). Strain said during production she went to the animation studio in Montreal to oversee the face structure and to make sure the character looked tall. "Because I'm 6' 1". Sometimes, people draw me and you can tell the body is that of a 5' 8" person", she told Entertainment Weekly. The sequel to the 1981 cult-classic was created without the use of production cels but rather used CAPS as most major studios were doing. Because there were no cels the studio hand-inked and hand-painted one-of-one cels and paired them with background copy/prints. This one is hand-inked and hand-painted on 16 field acetate and presented over an 11" x 17" Giclée background print. The setup is matted to 22" x 16" with an aperture of 15" x 9".
