Description
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles "Usagi Yojimbo" Leonardo and Usagi Yojimbo Production Cel with "It Came From Beneath the Sewers" Master Background (Murakami-Wolf-Swenson, 1988-1989). Here's an action-packed Master cel setup from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that'll be sure to make you say "Cowabunga, dude!" This piece consists of an original, hand-painted production cel depicting Leonardo and Usagi Yojimbo locked in an intense sword fight from about the 5:16 mark of the 1989 episode "Usagi Yojimbo." Both characters are pictured in full figure, with their combined image measuring about 5.5" x 4.75" on the 12 field production cel. The cel is paired with a hand-painted Master background from an even earlier episode of the series, "It Came From Beneath the Sewers." This 1988 episode was only the eighth episode of the show to ever be created, and this background can be seen at about the 15:51 mark of the episode. The background is marked in its lower right corner with BG-197. It is rendered with gouache on 14.5" x 10.5" background board. The setup is in Good to Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear from production use. There is some line wear on the cel, as well as some flecks of paint on the front of the acetate. The background has a small tear on its rightmost peghole, as well as some minor creasing on its edges.More information about Murakami-Wolf-Swenson. See also: MWS Artist.
